ABOUT ME
I immigrated to this country as a black, Haitian little girl, with bright-colored beads in my hair and even brighter, puffy-sleeved dresses. I remember looking at my mom's plain black handbag and promising myself that when I grew up, I would never buy anything as boring. Thankfully, my style has taken a few steps forward, but I still approach every project keeping a little bit of that promise.
This quote by a Roman African playwright is how I can best describe my perspective: “Homo sum, humani nihil a me alienum puto,” or “I am a human; I consider nothing that is human alien to me.” These words are a beautiful reminder that what was possible for my greatest heroes is also possible for me. I don’t put limits on what I can create or accomplish. I simply push myself to outlearn and outwork the pesky obstacles that stand in the way. This drive and resourcefulness has been my superpower, fueling my audacity to learn videography, interior/set design, and my personal favorite, social media marketing. All of these skills continue to reinforce my persistent love for finding creative ways to share stories.
